Named “Mercat,” the Catalan word for market, the intimate European bistro defines the oddities of history through its clever use and displays of antiquities. Mercat brings a new sense of understated comfort of time passing by slowly – where nothing is quite perfect but put together offer an eccentrically vintage experience. The design elements – including servery, tables, chairs, and art – have a story to tell as many pieces are recycled and reclaimed. Paired with a varied menu and wine list, Mercat is an honest compilation of classics from different corners of the world, mostly from Europe and Texas.
